PHASE II CARDIAC REHAB EXERCISE
This is an exercise program for individuals with an established cardiac
diagnosis. Participants exercise wearing cardiac monitors under the supervision
of an RN and a clinical exercise physiologist. Entry into the program
is through physician referral only.
CHF CLASS
This class is for inpatients, recently discharged outpatients, and their
families. The class is
designed to teach individuals with congestive heart failure how to live
with and manage their
disease and improve their overall quality of life.
POST-CABG TEACHING
This class is for patients who have recently undergone coronary artery
bypass surgery and their
families. The class is structured to address the concerns that patients
have following this surgery
and teaches them how to return to their normal lives, as well as lifestyle
interventions to help
reduce the likelihood of additional heart problems.
RISK REDUCTION CLASS
This class is for persons with established heart disease or at risk for
heart disease, and their
families. The focus of the class is on identifying those lifestyle characteristics
associated with
increased risk for heart disease and how to minimize or eliminate these
risks.
REVERSAL LIFESTYLE MODIFICATION PROGRAM
This program teaches participants how to make lifestyle changes that have
been shown to slow,
halt, and in some cases reverse the development of blockages in the coronary
arteries. Topics
include nutrition, exercise, stress management, and other lifestyle interventions.
SMOKING CESSATION
This program is designed to help participants to stop smoking.
CARDIAC GROUP SUPPORT
This weekly meeting is for patients with heart disease and their families.
The meeting focuses on
providing education on topics pertinent to individuals with heart disease
and on providing social
and emotional support to these individuals.
